Scaffolding Tubes
Scaffolding Tubes
Scaffolding tubes are one of the essential components in any access and support structure system. They serve as the primary load-bearing elements in scaffolding assemblies, providing strength, rigidity, and stability under varying site conditions.
These tubes are manufactured in both Black Steel and Hot-Dip Galvanized finishes, offering flexibility in use depending on the project’s environmental and structural requirements.
The tubes are produced in accordance with international standards, ensuring consistent quality and compatibility with global scaffolding systems.
The commonly applied standards include:
EN 39 – Specification for steel tubes used in scaffolding and related access structures.
EN 10219 – Cold-formed welded structural hollow sections of non-alloy and fine grain steels.
BS 1139 – British Standard for metal scaffolding tubes, couplers, and fittings.
Material and Dimensions
Type: Black or Hot-Dip Galvanized Steel
Thickness: Commonly 3.2 mm and 4.0 mm
Length: Standard tube lengths are typically 6.0 m, but other lengths can be supplied upon request.
Diameter: Nominal outside diameter 48.3 mm, which is the universal standard for scaffolding applications.
Manufacturing Process: Tubes are produced using high-quality steel coils and subjected to rigorous cold-forming and welding processes to ensure durability and uniform strength across the entire section.
Surface Finish and Protection
Black Tubes:
Supplied in untreated form, suitable for temporary works or applications where environmental exposure is minimal.
Galvanized Tubes:
Coated using the hot-dip galvanizing process, providing excellent protection against corrosion and extending service life, especially in harsh or outdoor environments.
Applications
Scaffolding tubes are used extensively in:
Access scaffolding systems for construction and maintenance.
Support structures for formwork and temporary platforms.
Shoring systems for load-bearing applications.
Industrial installations and refineries where corrosion resistance is critical.
Key Features
Manufactured to strict dimensional tolerances for perfect compatibility with all standard couplers and fittings.
High tensile strength and impact resistance, ensuring safety under heavy loads.
Available in both plain-end and swaged-end forms to suit various connection types.
Fully compliant with international safety standards and quality certifications
